City of Casey shines with prestigious awards

The City of Casey has been recognised for its excellence and innovation, recently winning prestigious awards for various aspects of its community and economy building projects and initiatives. The awards recognise the city’s achievements in areas such as employment, urban design, culinary arts and digital technology, showcasing the city’s diversity and creativity.

Some of our recent accolades include:

  • The National Growth Areas Alliance (NGAA) Award in the Research and Practice category for the Changing Perceptions in Employment program, which aims to develop skills and fill job vacancies using a holistics wraparound approach that focused on the individual. Read more >
  • A commendation for leadership for Casey’s Urban Design Excellence program. The program is the first for any metropolitan growth area council in Victoria and focuses on design leadership and innovative processes to support high quality design and to consistently improve built environment outcomes within the City of Casey.
  • The Golden Knife in Bocuse d’Or 2023 for Bunjil Place Head Chef Paul Golding, who impressed the judges with his culinary skills and creativity. Known as the 'World Cup' of culinary competitions, the prestigious Australian Bocuse d'Or Culinary competition only takes four Australian chefs to compete for the 'Golden Knife' trophy, with the winner representing Australia in the Bocuse d’Or Asia Pacific in 2024. Read more >
  • The Victorian Premier’s Design Award for 2023 for the Three Corners of the City project, a partnership between the School of Design and Architecture, Swinburne University of Technology, and the City of Casey Smart Cities team.   • Casey Stadium has been named Indoor Facility of the Year at Cricket Victoria’s 2023 Community Cricket Awards in recognition of its outstanding sport and recreation contributions to Melbourne’s southeast community. Read more >
